Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

4x10 hours, Days; includes weekends, holidays, and on-call/callback as needed (1-2 times/week and 1-2 weekends of call/month).

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist with experience in Neurosurgery or Neuroscience. The ideal candidate will exhibit high competence in imaging procedures and work collaboratively with all department members to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate exposure factors and position patients to produce high-quality radiologic images.
• Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
• Assist Radiologists during interventional procedures.
• Administer oral contrast as required for exams.
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment and systems (CR and DR).
• Address equipment malfunctions by reporting them to management or lead staff.
• Complete all assigned procedures promptly and assist colleagues with other duties as time permits.
• Maintain medication security and provide care sensitive to patients’ rights.
• Engage in department performance improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper phone etiquette when responding to technical inquiries.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Two (2) years of radiologic technology experience.
• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of New York.
• ARRT certification.
• Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is required.
• Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) certification is a plus.
