OB Registered Nurse

Schedule

12-hour shifts, 4 days per week; rotating shift schedules.

Job Description

The OB Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients across varying risk levels. This role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in labor and delivery, ensuring patient and family-centered care is a priority. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, nurses are oriented to various competencies across the OB service, which includes a commitment to floating among units to meet fluctuating patient volume and acuity needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient care.
• Float among various OB/GYN units as required based on patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery; operating room and triage experience is highly desired.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
