Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Step-Down Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a step-down or progressive care unit. This is a 13-week contract position with guaranteed hours, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, providing excellent patient care through a multidisciplinary approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, and cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Monitor vital signs and perform frequent neurovascular checks.
• Administer medications, including emergency medications and blood products as needed.
• Assist with post-cardiac catheterization care and vascular procedure monitoring.
• Manage IV and PICC lines, including starting and maintaining IV therapy.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license with 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience in cardiac and emergency care, particularly with dysrhythmia interpretation and management.

Schedule

This position involves day shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule, from 07:00 - 19:30, with every other weekend and holiday rotations.
