Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care in the operating room setting. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the operating room, assessing clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs.
- Recognize safety issues to self and others, implementing appropriate safety measures.
- Function effectively in stressful situations, utilizing problem-solving skills.
- May assume duties as a charge nurse, prioritizing and delegating tasks as needed.
- Utilize clinical equipment common in the OR/ASU setting to maintain a safe environment.
- Interpret lethal dysrhythmias as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current New York State RN license or eligibility.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum one year of medical/surgical experience preferred; prior preceptorship and charge nurse experience is a plus.
