Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patients' needs, identifying patient needs, and determining priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.

Responsibilities

• Initiates assessments based on patients' problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and manages care of patients.
• Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two (2) years of experience in acute adult oncology, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma, in an inpatient setting.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS - AHA certification required.
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license required.
• Telemetry and Chemotherapy Certification with ONS preferred.
