12-hour night shifts, every weekend. This is a 13-week contract position.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, specifically focusing on post-operative cardiac patients. The position requires flexibility to float to similar units as needed.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting changes to the medical staff.
- Coordinate and provide care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 year in a progressive care or telemetry unit.
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required; PCCN certification is preferred.
- Experience with large trauma level 1 facilities within the last year is required.
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory.
- Cardiothoracic and vascular nursing experience, along with post-operative care for heart surgeries (open/closed) is essential.
