Registered Nurse (RN) - Perioperative Care

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:15am-4:15pm

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role will provide comprehensive nursing care across the patient spectrum, demonstrating competent assessment and clinical skills. The RN will collaborate with the perioperative team to deliver exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and documentation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups from Pediatric to Geriatric.
• Demonstrate and apply clinical skills in providing direct patient care and support the nursing team concept.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with patient care guidelines.
• Act professionally by adhering to policies and procedures while identifying areas for personal growth.
• Engage with patients and families in a courteous and positive manner to enhance patient satisfaction and care outcomes.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals including appropriate use of patient identifiers.
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia protocols.
• Assess the understanding of surgical procedures and provide pre-operative and post-operative education for patients and families.
• Support the completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) in a timely manner, evaluating orders for appropriateness.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Current RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with IV insertion and management of PICC lines, Midlines, and portacaths preferred.
• Familiar with the administration of antibiotics, IVIG, blood transfusions, GI and rheumatoid medications, and iron products.
• Ability to administer subcutaneous and IM injections.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
