Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and provides patient care in a supportive and safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care based on identified healthcare needs.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient education regarding discharge.
  • Ensure effective communication of changes in patient status amongst care providers to support continuity of care.
  • Provide direction and supervision of ancillary staff while utilizing problem-solving techniques for decision-making.
  • Contribute positively to the unit environment by offering guidance and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
  • Maintain communication regarding service needs such as necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
  • Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for specific units).
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
  • Previous experience with Select Medical preferred.
