Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant embraces the core values of Select Medical, focusing on delivering superior quality care and achieving positive results for patients. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures. The Physical Therapist Assistant will implement treatment goals and support therapeutic interventions under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, and functional skills training.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
• Monitor patient responses and document progress, ensuring effective communication with patients and their families.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety by adhering to infection control guidelines and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, staff, and other healthcare disciplines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• CAPE Certified.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• CPR Certification.
• Active and applicable state licensure.
