Outpatient Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Outpatient Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating all assigned patients and developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans according to the patients' needs, goals, and physician directives. This role involves directing all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs to facilitate a successful return to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers, while also performing additional professional duties related to patient care and program delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans focused on progressing patients towards discharge within an established timeline.
  • Document care accurately and timely per organizational policies and relevant guidelines.
  • Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals.
  • Participate in student programs, providing supervision and evaluations.
  • Create and pursue an individualized professional development plan for ongoing growth.
  • Maintain professional licensure and adhere to state practice acts and ethical standards.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
  • 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Active and applicable state license for occupational therapy.

Schedule

This position follows a 5x8.0 schedule with a start date in May.
