Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This is a 13-week contract position with a focus on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient levels of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning including patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Complete documentation according to department policy and procedures, including daily progress notes.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in the application of Occupational Therapy techniques.
• Communicate effectively with patients and/or families at their level of understanding.
• Promote an ethic of continuous quality improvement and patient safety in all activities.
• Budget time and set priorities while remaining flexible with patient scheduling.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid and current State license as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy, with previous inpatient rehab experience preferred.

Schedule

Day shift, 5x8.0 hours.
