Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, contributing to a strong team environment focused on patient safety and high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs related to patients' diagnoses and collaborate with patients and families for care planning.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on direct patient care through the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Ensure effective communication regarding changes in patient status between care providers.
- Provide supervision and training to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation of tasks.
- Maintain safety and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning through calm direction and team-building activities.
- Monitor service needs for supplies and training to support quality care.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested and pursue professional development opportunities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
- Active RN license in the applicable state is desired.
- Recent ICU experience is highly desired.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift with a 3x12.0 schedule.
