Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the PACU unit is responsible for providing high-quality perioperative care to patients before and after surgical procedures. You will work in a dynamic environment with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and recovery. The ideal candidate will have experience in pre-operative and post-anesthesia care, ensuring smooth transitions for patients through their surgical journey.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vitals and recovery progress in the PACU.
- Provide pre-operative assessments and education to patients and families.
- Administer medications and manage post-operative pain management.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team and document all patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards within the unit.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active TX RN License (temporary licenses are not accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- A minimum of 2 years of hospital or travel experience in a similar role.
- Experience in Phase II surgical recovery is preferred.
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system is a plus.
