Description

Registered Nurse - ICU Stepdown Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15).

Job Description

The position is for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in an ICU stepdown unit that resembles intensive care, providing high-quality patient care. The role requires expertise in managing complex patient situations and administering vasoactive drips while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage patients on arterial lines and vasoactive drips.
  • Respond to rapid response situations and interact with IV teams and other support services.
  • Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines.
  • Provide care for diverse patient populations, including adolescents and geriatrics, with varying complexities.
  • Utilize telemetry systems for the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in PCU/DOU/ICU settings.
  • Active RN license in the applicable state or compact state.
  • ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications required.
  • Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation.
