Job Description
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and the standards of professional nursing practice. The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for ICU patients.
- Document all nursing interventions and patient outcomes.
- Direct and supervise the nursing activities of junior staff as required.
- Utilize clinical judgment to develop individualized care plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2+ years recent experience in an ICU setting (REQUIRED)
- Current RN license in Maryland (verification must be less than 30 days old) - (REQUIRED)
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification (REQUIRED)
- Active American Heart Association ACLS certification (REQUIRED)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (must obtain within 48 hours if offered) - (REQUIRED)
- mRs/SIREN certification (must obtain within 48 hours if offered) - (REQUIRED)
- COVID vaccination required (no declinations accepted, must be state record) - (REQUIRED)
- 1 supervisory reference from the last 6 months (REQUIRED)
- 1 supervisory reference from the last 12 months (REQUIRED)
- Skills checklist specific to ICU nursing (REQUIRED)
