Schedule

Full-time schedule consisting of 36 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. Variable shifts may be required based on census. Holiday coverage will be managed through call, and staff may be asked to assist as needed.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist is responsible for providing patient care and ensuring safety protocols are followed while performing MRI procedures. The role involves interviewing patients, explaining procedures, and addressing any concerns they may have. A focus on maintaining patient confidentiality and developing effective relationships with patients and healthcare team members is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures by using and building imaging protocols.
• Screen patients for contraindications and follow safety requirements per ACR and facility protocols.
• Educate patients about procedures and respond to their questions.
• Monitor patients visually and verbally throughout the procedure.
• Maintain a safe environment by explaining safety protocols and ensuring hazardous metal objects are removed.
• Operate necessary equipment for MRI procedures and patient care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization to promote safety habits for patients and staff.
• Assist in monitoring inventory and reporting on equipment status.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associates Degree or Certificate from an accredited program.
• ARRT Certification is required.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Must be Influenza vaccinated as required by the State of Maine unless a Medical Exemption is provided and approved by Employee Health.
