Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg - Night Shift

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position. The shift is 12-hour nights, with hours from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, including weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The Med/Surg unit requires a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with strong experience and background in Med/Surg nursing. The RN will provide care for a diverse patient population with various diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including CP, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic issues, and postoperative recovery.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring proper treatment and medication administration.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Assist with high-level respiratory care, including Cpap and Bipap, with the help of respiratory therapy.
• Participate in unit orientation and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Float to other units as needed to assist with patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license with current BLS and NIHSS certification.
• Epic charting experience is mandatory.
• Strong Med/Surg background is essential due to a variety of patient needs.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are recommended but not required.
