Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit will provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients throughout the labor and delivery process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in high-risk antepartum care as well as sufficient experience in managing fetal and maternal health.

Responsibilities

• Manage labor and delivery care, including triaging obstetrical patients.
• Perform assessments, interventions, and evaluations for maternal and neonatal health.
• Assist with C-section circulations and recoveries, as well as vaginal deliveries.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments per physician orders.
• Conduct discharge planning and patient education, including breastfeeding support.
• Utilize advanced monitoring techniques and maintain central lines (CVC / PICC).
• Interpret fetal heart rate patterns and manage complications such as postpartum hemorrhage.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing.
• Current New York State RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications are mandatory.
• Experience with Allscripts charting system is preferred.
• Prior charge nurse experience is a plus.
