Job Description
The Physical Therapist is responsible for directing physical therapy services under the guidance of the Director of Physical Therapy. This role includes coordinating and supervising the operation of the department, administering physical agents prescribed by referring physicians, and maintaining performance improvement activities. The Physical Therapist ensures compliance with all regulatory laws and standards while efficiently operating the department within budget guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee physical therapy services while ensuring department efficiency.
- Administer physical agents as per physician's prescriptions.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery.
- Develop and maintain a system to ensure accurate patient charge entry.
- Formulate and manage departmental budget, monitoring performance against budgetary guidelines.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and rehabilitation goals.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Three (3) or more years of experience in physical therapy preferred.
- Current California licensure as a physical therapist.
- Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
- Current BCLS certification is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
