Rotating shifts: 3x12 hours Nights (19:00 - 07:30) and Days (07:00 - 19:30); requires working every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
Job Description
The CICU/CVICU Registered Nurse provides specialized care for patients in critical condition related to cardiac issues. The role requires strong clinical skills, experience in a high-acuity environment, and the ability to provide advanced nursing care and support for complex cardiac cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one nursing care for critically ill patients, monitoring vital signs and managing interventions.
- Utilize advanced equipment and procedures including bedside central line insertions, bronchoscopy, and targeted temperature management.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Administer medications and manage blood products as per protocol.
- Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac rhythms.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a CICU/CVICU setting is required.
- Current RN state license for Maryland or compact state.
- BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications are required; CCRN preferred.
- Experience with Epic charting system is necessary.
- Floating within the specialty is required; flexibility to float to lower acuity areas as needed.
