Registered Nurse - Obstetrics/Night Shift

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The nurse is required to work every third weekend for days, totaling 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period. Night shift weekends will include Friday and Saturday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive care in a fast-paced obstetrics unit, addressing the needs of high-risk OB patients and assisting with C-sections. The role requires familiarity with multiple charting systems (Meditech and GE) and strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete patient assessments and own examinations.
• Manage care for patients in a high-stakes environment, including full responsibility during C-sections.
• Handle patient assignments while providing support for Nurse Aides and Scrub Techs.
• Conduct patient care in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in unit orientation and show flexibility to float within OB and nursery settings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.
• Experience with high-risk obstetric nursing preferred.
• BSN preferred but not required.
