Registered Nurse - Electrophysiology Lab

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care before and during Electrophysiology (EPS) procedures, and will also assist in the Admit/Recovery area as well as various technical positions within the device and ablation lab. Responsibilities include patient education related to EP procedures, administering moderate sedation under the direction of the EP Physician, participating in materials management and research, and assisting with the orientation of new staff members.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care during EPS procedures.
• Cross-train in the Admit/Recovery area and device and ablation lab technical positions.
• Educate patients about EP procedures.
• Administer moderate sedation under the guidance of the EP Physician.
• Participate in materials management and research initiatives.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 to 3 years of Critical Care nursing experience or 3 to 5 years of Cardiac experience required.
• EPS lab or Cath lab experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate's degree, or baccalaureate degree nursing program required; BSN preferred.
• Current NJ State RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN, RCES or RCIS certifications preferred.
