IMCU Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) with the expectation of up to 2 weekends per month. Candidates must be available for holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IMCU Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate recent experience and proficiency in using the EPIC EMR system. This role involves providing direct patient care to a diverse patient population while floating between MedSurg and IMCU as the patient volume requires.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with complex medical conditions in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and MedSurg settings.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1 with a goal of 4:1.
• Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and manage patient care plans.
• Comfortably manage pediatric patients as needed, although they are not frequent.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NC license or multi-state license.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, with at least 2 years of travel experience.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required.
• Experience in telemetry is essential.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and provide central and peripheral line care.
