Level 3 RN - Endoscopy/GI

Job Description

The Level 3 RN for Endoscopy/GI will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Endoscopy unit. This role involves monitoring patient vital signs, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a safe recovery for patients post-procedure. The RN will also be tasked with preparing equipment, administering medications, and supporting the medical team throughout the patient’s care.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient questions and address any concerns.
• Monitor and observe patient vital signs.
• Administer sedation to patients prior to procedures.
• Oversee patient recovery after procedures.
• Document patient notes and discharge information accurately.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for various procedures.
• Clean and sterilize equipment before use.
• Assist doctors during procedures.
• Administer IV drips as necessary.

Schedule

This position requires a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 8 PM, with on-call requirements for overnights and weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active NY RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
• ACLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in endoscopy procedures.
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and rhythm identification.
• Experience with conscious sedation.
• Expertise in IV insertion.
• Experience in recovering patients from general anesthesia.
• Experience in performing intake for GI procedures.
