Level II Registered Nurse - Telemetry Experience Required

Schedule: D/E/N ROTATING SHIFT SCHEDULES, including Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge per Unit Needs.

Job Description

The Level II Registered Nurse is accountable for providing competent care based on established standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This role may include responsibilities such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member.

Within our 25-bed unit, the nurse will care for a variety of surgical patients, including thoracic, foregut, plastics, and burn patients. The unit also includes 2 stepdown beds for post-operative patients requiring more frequent monitoring, and specializes in managing and caring for Pulmonary hypertension patients through a dedicated center, the only one of its kind in upstate New York.

On the unit, you will develop a diversified skill set while working with various medical equipment, tubes, lines, and drains.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care to patients on the surgical unit.
• Assist in monitoring post-operative patients in stepdown beds.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assume charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Participate in educational and committee responsibilities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Telemetry Experience Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
