This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Weekends required, with 6 weekend shifts per schedule period.

Job Description

The Charge Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality nursing care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, functioning as a fully independent staff nurse with a standard patient ratio of 1:6. The assigned nurse will also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed, overseeing operational workflow for both the Medical Surgical unit and the adult ICU without providing direct ICU patient care. Broad clinical competency is essential, as the unit serves a diverse patient demographic from infants to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in adherence to established protocols and nursing standards.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6, ensuring adequate care and monitoring.
• Assume charge responsibilities and oversee workflow in the Acute Care Services Department.
• Deliver comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of clinical conditions, including Chronic Heart Failure, Sepsis, COPD, and more.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license (Compact license preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of previous charge experience required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Travel experience is a must.
