Job Description

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for meeting patients' goals and needs by assessing evaluations and test results, determining treatment plans, and implementing programs that promote physical and mental functioning. The role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and supervising rehabilitation aides and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results to develop occupational therapy treatment plans.
• Implement therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or adjust to physical or mental functioning.
• Promote patient independence through selecting and constructing appropriate therapies.
• Consult with employers to prepare patients for return to employment and recommend accommodations.
• Evaluate patient progress and recommend adjustments to therapy plans as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to contribute to discharge planning for patients.
• Design and instruct patients and caregivers in home exercise programs to ensure continuity of care post-discharge.
• Document patient care services thoroughly in records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe working environment.
• Stay up-to-date with professional knowledge through educational workshops and training.
• Supervise and develop rehabilitation aides and technicians as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Possession of an Occupational Therapy License issued by the state of Colorado.
• Valid registration certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Previous experience in occupational therapy preferred.
• Knowledge of physical and mental dysfunction diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and the structure of the English language.
• BLS certification required.
