This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:30 - 19:30). Every other weekend and holiday are required. 36 hours per week guarantee.
Job Description
The Neuro Med/Surg Tele Nurse will provide care in a Med/Surg Telemetry Certified Stroke Center and a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The nurse will primarily work with patients who have neuro-related diagnoses while also supporting other patient populations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients with neurological disorders.
- Monitor patients using telemetry and respond to changes in conditions.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy and hemodialysis as required.
- Document and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Support patients and families in understanding their conditions and treatments.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Two years of neurology and medical-surgical telemetry experience.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to orientation.
- Valid Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
