Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis in collaboration with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient information for initial and weekly re-evaluation team conferences.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in compliance with policy.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize education for patients and their families.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to the functioning of the unit through supportive collaboration with staff, patients, and families.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
  • Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
  • ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
  • Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience
  • Charge Nurse Experience
  • Active License in the State for which they are applying

Schedule

This position requires a Night shift, working 3x12 hour shifts per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
