Outpatient Physical Therapist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs, goals, and physician direction. Responsibilities include delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs to facilitate effective return to community activities. Additionally, the therapist serves as an educator of patients, families, students, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a comprehensive evaluation of assigned patients.
  • Develop appropriate treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients towards discharge.
  • Document medical records clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval.
  • Participate in the student program, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate supervision.
  • Create an individualized professional development plan with clinical management.
  • Maintain professional licensure and complete all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
  • Understand and follow organizational performance improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
  • 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience in orthopedics.
