Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Schedule

20:00 to 08:00 (Nights, 12-hour shifts)

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing both routine and complex care with the ability to manage long-range goals or plans effectively. The nurse continues to develop skills in coping with and managing clinical contingencies and makes appropriate assignments to other care providers as a means to help manage clinical situations.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of the applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to the level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current PALS certification required (AHA only).
• Current TNCC certification required.
• RN License in the state of TX or compact.
