Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for facilitating quality care for patients in accordance with established plans and objectives. The role emphasizes safety in patient handling and a commitment to high standards of patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals and plans as established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in therapeutic interventions to meet long-term patient goals such as posture training, strength, endurance exercises, and pain relief.
• Train patients in the use of assistive devices and demonstrate proper techniques for locomotion.
• Apply modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, and ultrasound for patient treatment.
• Monitor patient responses and document progress in alignment with treatment objectives.
• Educate patients and families on body mechanics and proper usage of therapeutic equipment.
• Engage in team conferences and provide resources to other healthcare disciplines regarding therapy administered.
• Participate in special projects or initiatives designed to enhance patient care quality.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an Accredited School.
• CAPTE Certification.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
• CPR Certification.
• Active applicable license for the State where work will be performed.
