Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift: 3x12.0 hours.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while advocating for patient safety and quality care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient and family education needs based on assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the rehabilitation program and deliver direct patient care following the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to nursing personnel, utilizing effective decision-making and delegation.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
• Participate in activities that promote team building and a positive work environment.
• Address service needs related to supplies, equipment, and clinical training to effectively complete assigned duties.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
