Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) will provide care to patients recovering from anesthesia. The role requires expertise in trauma and pediatric care, along with advanced skills in ventilator monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vitals and manage ventilator settings.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during post-operative recovery.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient experience initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
- NIH Stroke Scale experience is essential.
- Previous experience in a PACU or similar setting preferred.
- Ability to float within peri-anesthesia (Endoscopy/PreOp/Phase II) as necessary.
