Day shift, 4x10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) with an every-other-weekend requirement.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room will be responsible for providing surgical nursing care in a fast-paced environment. The position requires expertise in various surgical procedures and adherence to safety protocols while ensuring the highest quality of care for patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop nursing care plans.
- Assist surgeons during procedures and maintain sterile environments.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and manage anesthesia according to protocols.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate patient records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teamwork to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an OR setting.
- Current New York State RN license (or proof of application).
- Certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
- Experience with a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to thoracotomies, laparoscopic procedures, and general surgery.
