Description
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Critical Care provides routine and complex care for patients recovering from post-cardiothoracic surgery and managing high acuity patients with multiple comorbidities. This role involves utilizing advanced technology and care protocols to ensure the well-being of patients, including the management of devices such as IMPELLA, Balloon Pump, and others.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments per established protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- One year of experience in a Critical Care setting preferred; new graduates may be considered.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only).
- Valid RN license in the state of Texas or compact state.
Schedule
This position requires working nights from 7 PM to 7 AM.
