Job Description
The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating all assigned patients and developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans according to patient needs, goals, and physician direction. This role includes delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services and ensures the design of functional treatment programs that allow for an effective return to community activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Document care in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including medical necessity letters and charge entry.
- Provide education to patients, families, students, and coworkers.
- Participate in student programs as assigned, creating a positive learning environment.
- Pursue professional development through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.
- Adhere to state practice acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives to enhance quality of services.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 6 months to 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state licensure for physical therapy.
- Previous successful assignments preferred but not required.
