This is a full-time position with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in a Level 4 NICU setting, practices independently while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of neonatal care. This role includes the provision of routine and complex care to a patient population ranging from feeder growers to complex ICU cases, with a patient ratio of 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4. CNAs support our 1:4 patient assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to manage clinical situations effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA only) required.
• Current STABLE certification from an approved course required.
• Current NRP Certification required.
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
