Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees to promote a cohesive and efficient healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and create individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and conduct patient educational teaching regarding discharge needs.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to support continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Supervise and provide training to ancillary nursing personnel and assist with problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by providing support and direction to team members.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies required for patient care.
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH only).
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
  • Current RN license.
