Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in alignment with the patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. The therapist is responsible for the delegation and direction of all therapy services for assigned patients and ensures the design of functional treatment programs to facilitate effective community reintegration. This role also includes educating patients, families, students, and coworkers, while maintaining adherence to organizational compliance and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and design appropriate treatment plans and goals focused on optimizing patient outcomes.
- Document medical records clearly, accurately, and promptly, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and clinic policies.
- Participate in student education programs, offering supervision and constructive feedback to foster a positive learning environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through education, self-study, and participation in relevant professional activities.
- Adhere to state practice acts and regulatory standards, maintaining licensure and completing continuing education requirements as mandated.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback to enhance service quality within the organization.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- CPR certification is required.
- Active and applicable state licensure for the practice of physical therapy.
