Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Rehabilitation Services department provides a comprehensive array of services, including occupational, physical, and speech therapies. The Occupational Therapy (OT) segment focuses on evaluating and treating individuals with injuries, disabilities, or emotional challenges to enhance, maintain, or restore their functional capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess, evaluate, and re-evaluate patient levels of function.
• Develop and implement written occupational therapy plans of care under physician referral.
• Independently plan and conduct occupational therapy treatments, focusing on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), range of motion (ROM), and strength.
• Consult with nursing staff to deliver coordinated comprehensive screenings and rehabilitative care programs.
• Document all services rendered and maintain accurate treatment records.
• Provide patient and staff education on occupational therapy recommendations.
• Coordinate discharge follow-up with community agencies as needed.
• Act as a patient advocate respecting the Patient Bill of Rights.

Schedule

This position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Flexibility in work hours may occur, and the candidate must be available to work on Saturdays.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid Hawaii occupational therapist license required.
• Experience in evaluating and treating patients in an occupational therapy setting.
