Respiratory Therapist - NICU/Pediatrics

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12 hours, from 18:30 to 07:00, scheduled Thursday through Sunday.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting, working specifically with pediatric patients. The position requires expertise in a Level 2 NICU environment, ensuring high-quality respiratory care and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments to neonates and pediatric patients.
• Conduct assessments, including interpretation of arterial blood gases.
• Manage ventilator settings and provide mechanical ventilation support.
• Assist with intubation and extubation procedures.
• Collaborate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient care in the Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2-3 years of experience in a NICU or pediatric setting is required.
• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) in the state of practice.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting is required.
• Experience in a community hospital is required.
