Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technician specialized in Open Heart Surgery to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support during surgical procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures, particularly in open heart surgeries.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field, ensuring the availability of all necessary surgical instruments and supplies.
- Work closely with surgeons and other medical professionals to facilitate effective operations.
- Ensure the proper handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
Schedule
This position requires a day shift schedule of 5 consecutive 8-hour days, with on-call responsibilities every third day and possible commitment to two weekends a month.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Vascular Operating Room (CVOR).
- Certification from NBSTSA required; NCCT will not be accepted.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
- Experience with Level I trauma care is necessary.
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system is preferred.
