Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist - Neurosurgery Experience Required

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

4x10 hours, Days; weekends, holidays, on call/callback per unit needs, with call 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist will demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce radiologic images of diagnostic quality. The ideal candidate will work cooperatively with team members to resolve problems expediently, displaying compassion, respect, and accountability in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Administers oral contrast as needed per exam and instructs patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
• Assists Radiologist during procedures, demonstrating proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment, CR and DR systems.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to management and completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner.
• Maintains medication security and demonstrates competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups.
• Utilizes hospital information systems (HIS), radiology information systems (RIS), and PACS efficiently.
• Participates in performance improvement activities as necessary to enhance department operations.
• Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates excellent communication skills with healthcare professionals.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two (2) years of Radiologic Technologist experience required.
• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of New York.
• AART Certification is required.
• Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is required.
• VIR Certification is a plus.
