Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant embraces the core values of the organization, ensuring superior quality in all aspects of work. This role focuses on patient and employee safety, implementing treatment goals, and assisting in various therapeutic interventions under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals and plans as established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist with therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, and functional skills training.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics and assistive devices, demonstrating proper techniques and safety awareness.
• Utilize various modalities such as whirlpools, therapeutic pools, and ultrasound effectively.
• Monitor patient responses and intervene as necessary while ensuring a safe environment.
• Document patient progress and educate patients and families on treatment plans.
• Maintain proper safety protocols, including infection control measures and equipment safety.
• Participate in team conferences and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certified.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
• CPR Certification.
• Active and applicable state license.

Schedule

This position operates on a 5x8.0 schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
