Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant embraces the core values of the organization, delivering superior quality in all aspects of care while ensuring the safety of both patients and staff. This role involves implementing treatment goals and programs as established by the Physical Therapist, assisting with therapeutic interventions aimed at achieving long-term patient goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans and programs established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening, endurance training, and functional skills training.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics and assistive devices.
• Utilize modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, and therapeutic ultrasound.
• Monitor patient responses and document progress and response to treatment.
• Consult with other healthcare disciplines regarding therapy and treatment goals.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting hazards.
• Participate in team conferences and contribute to quality improvement projects.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Active applicable state license.

Schedule

This position operates on a 5x8.0 schedule with a focus on delivering patient-centered care.
