Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit (12-Hour Nights)

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position requiring 12-hour night shifts, including weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Med/Surg to join our team. This unit accommodates a variety of diagnoses including pneumonia, CHF, abd pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic surgery, and post-operative pediatric patients. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to medical-surgical patients as per established standards and protocols.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions effectively.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to healthcare team.
• Participate in training and orientation programs as required, including medication tech, pharmacy, and lab training.
• Floating to assist other units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and unexpired RN license.
• BLS certification required; NIHSS certification for all RNs and LPNs.
• Epic experience is a must.
• Strong medical-surgical background due to a variety of patient needs.
• ACLS and PALS are recommended but not required.
