Registered Nurse - Neurological Unit

Schedule

This position involves rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights. You may be required to work weekends, holidays, and be on-call as per the unit's needs.

Job Description

Join an exciting opportunity on a specialized neurological unit where you will enhance your nursing skills while caring for patients with various neurological conditions. This role involves working with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, managing care for patients facing ailments such as stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Guillain Barre Syndrome. As part of a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in the region, you will engage with acute and complex cases while utilizing state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology in collaboration with a specialized team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on a specialized neurological unit.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement patient care plans.
• Utilize telemetry and critical thinking skills to monitor and respond to patient needs.
• Engage in continuous learning regarding various neurological diseases and treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid New York State license.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Telemetry experience is essential.
• NIHSS certification is highly preferred.
