Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:15), every other weekend required.
Job Description
This position involves providing care to cardiac patients, including those who have undergone recent open heart surgeries. The nurse will work within a regulated patient ratio, with the ability to float to CCU/CTICU, ICU, or stepdown units as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a cardiac unit.
- Follow established protocols for patient ratios, ensuring 1:1 care for fresh cardiac open heart patients.
- Float to various units based on patient acuity and staffing needs.
- Administer medications and monitor patients post-surgery.
- Utilize Epic for charting patient information and care plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
- Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and Stroke CEUs are mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac care setting, specifically with fresh open heart surgical patients.
- Experience with CABG, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, TAVR, and valve replacement procedures is required.
