Job Description
The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures within the Interventional Radiology department. This includes preparation and assistance in procedures such as angioplasty, embolization, and biopsies, ensuring patient safety and(protocol compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the procedure room, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Conduct and assist with interventional radiology procedures, such as carotid angiography, nephrostomy, and biliary placement.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging and intervention processes.
- Maintain and operate radiologic equipment, ensuring proper function and safety compliance.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and infection control programs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology.
- ARRT certification in Radiography.
- BLS certification.
- Preferred certifications: ARRT CI (Cardiac Interventional) and ARRT VI (Vascular Interventional).
- Previous stroke-certified hospital experience is preferred.
